Description

A refreshing and creamy Iced Matcha Latte made at home with ceremonial grade matcha, your choice of milk, and natural sweeteners. This easy recipe delivers café-quality flavor with just a few ingredients and simple steps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons ceremonial grade matcha powder
  • 2 ounces warm water (175°F / 80°C)
  • 6 to 8 ounces milk (dairy or plant-based, such as almond, oat, or soy)
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill a glass)
  • Optional sweeteners (1 to 2 teaspoons honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar)
  • Optional flavorings (1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, cinnamon sprinkle)

Instructions

  • Sift the Matcha
    • Place 1 to 2 teaspoons of matcha powder into a small bowl and sift to remove clumps.
  • Whisk the Matcha
    • Add 2 ounces of warm water and whisk briskly in an “M” or “W” motion until frothy.
  • Prepare the Glass
    • Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  • Pour the Milk
    • Add 6 to 8 ounces of cold milk over the ice.
  • Sweeten (Optional)
    • If desired, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of your chosen sweetener to the whisked matcha. Stir well.
  • Combine
    • Slowly pour the whisked matcha over the milk and ice for a layered look.

  • Stir and Enjoy
    • Stir the drink to combine, or enjoy the layers before mixing.

Notes

  • For a stronger matcha flavor, use 2 teaspoons of matcha powder.
  • Oat milk creates a naturally sweeter and creamier latte without added sugar.
  • Always use ceremonial grade matcha for the best flavor and vibrant green color.
  • Whisking with a bamboo chasen creates the best foam, but a hand frother or shaker bottle also works.
